Idea behind unwind
Unwind is a cork wall fixture that enables you to block out the noise from your surroundings while you relax, take a nap, watch a movie or even attend a meeting. Unwind allows individuals to have their very own private space while in public areas. Unwind is based around people’s behaviour, which is to go and lounge around plug points so that they can charge their devices while waiting in transit zones.
Located at airports and lounges, Unwind is conveniently fixed on walls that have power sockets. It allows you to charge your devices while you stretch your legs, watch a movie or take business calls while waiting in the transit lounge.
FIELD RESEARCH
A field visit was conducted at various terminals of Changi Airport over a period of 2 - 3 days to help understand the airport layouts and behaviour of people in airport terminals and transit zones.
The following highlights the key insights from the visit at Changi Airport.
Key Insights
Charging stations with uncomfortable seating all around the waiting area at airport pick up zones. Allows people to charge their devices while waiting to pick up family and friends.
Carpets in the terminal help absorb the noise from surroundings.
Lounging area at Jewel Changi - This zone has both carpets , seating areas and charging points. It absorbs noise from the surroundings and keeps this zone generally quite. Which allows travelers to relax, sleep, charge their devices and also watch movies.
Perforated ceilings all over the termail help absorb the noise.
